Terry D. Maddox M.M.
Mr. Terry D. Maddox is a native of Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in Music and Religion with an emphasis in
organ performance from the University of Evansville, Indiana. While studying there he also attended Harlaxton College of Grantham, England for a year.
He received a full fellowship and assistantship from Loyola University of New Orleans, Louisiana where he earned a Masters of Music in Choral Conducting with emphasis in sacred music.
Terry has served as an educator for three private Christian school systems in the position of Director of Fine and Performing Arts for twelve years of
his career. He formed this chorus
while (1998 to 2017) Director of Music and Fine Arts for Government Street Presbyterian Church in Mobile, Alabama.
In this position he served as organist, choir director, and administrator of the music and fine arts ministry program. The Greater Mobile Bay Area
Choral Society, which Terry founded, was a part of this program.
Terry now holds a position
with the Catholic Diocese in Biloxi MS, as Music Director for Touro Synagogue of New Orleans (since 1993), Adjunct Professor for Spring Hill College's Choral and Music
Education programs, and founder / director of The Honors Choir for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lower Alabama.
He was formerly Artistic Director for the Eastern Shore Choral Society.
Terry has twice prepared and led large choral groups to join a massed choir in Carnegie Hall – in 2007 serving as an assisting director for Faure’s
Requiem; and in 2009 conducting Rutter’s Requiem, which was the featured evening program in the near-capacity filled
Isaac Stern auditorium. Terry has also led several choir trips to Europe, visiting and singing in Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
